Christine has an appropriate B.S. in Theatre from Skidmore College. Before moving home to Maine, she performed with Actor’s Theatre in Santa Fe, and in Michigan, she helped found the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti, acted in Dangerous Liasons with Ann Arbor Civic Theater, and directed the critically acclaimed Wilhelm Reich in Hell at Ann Arbor’s Performance Network. Here in Maine, she has taught for 13 years at the Maine State Ballet, where she is a company and board member. She has appeared regularly in MSB’s repertoire, with roles in Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Can-Can Parisienne, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland, among others. She is currently working with MSB in the development of the company’s new on-site theater.
She narrates audiobooks and is a regular voice of the online version of The New Yorker. She has directed, designed and performed widely in Maine, and is especially proud of her work with Flaming Productions, performing in Jeffrey, directing Love! Valour! Compassion!, and acting in BobbyRoger Poirier’s film Traditional Family Vampires (produced by Flaming.) She has acted, designed and choreographed for the notorious Stone Pinhead Ensemble, doing triple duty for playwright John Nichols’s musicals Harold Be Thy Name and Cult.
For Mad Horse (with whom she first performed in 1995) she has directed Of Mice and Men, Drunks, The Bacchae, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Three Viewings, and 12 Angry Men (the first play produced in PSC’s Studio Theater.)
